Lectures and Workshops

I am available for lectures, trunkshows, demos and workshops.

My lectures are customized to the interest and skill level of the group. Talks have included 'Life as a quilter in South Africa,'  'The balancing act: career, hobby, homemaker,' 'Journal quilts: a chronicle of life,' 'Using scrapbooking techniques in your fibre art,' 'Don't be scared to try...'    Please contact me for details.

In my trunkshows, I show a large selection of my work highlighting my journey as a fibre artist.  Hand embroidered pieces, hand smocked dresses, traditional quilts, art workbooks and pieces, traditional quilts as well as my latest pieces are included.

My demos and workshops can be aimed at any level of skill.  They can take place as a once off, a series, or over a few sessions. The age range is from children through to the elderly population. I have given workshops and demos to quilting guilds, informal work groups as well as individuals wanting to improve their level of skill in a particular technique. Because of my training as an Occupational Therapist, I have adapted many techniques enabling people with challenges to participate in a variety of activities. I have worked with stroke survivors, people with head injuries, Parkinson's disease and the mentally challenged.  Topics cover a wide range of subjects that I feel competent to teach.

Contact me to discuss how I may customize a topic of interest for you or your group.
